Does anyone have any method of putting a hole in a craft stick other than drilling?  We tried a screwdriver with a drill type head (sorry I don't know the name of it) and it split the stick.  Thanks!

If you use a hand drill you could try putting a piece of tape around the wood before drilling and be sure to place the stick on a firm surface (but protect it). A cutting board of piece of scrap wood is perfect for this application.

Also, I just tried and made several holes in a craft stick with a 3/16" hole punch. A standard size would be too large and would also crack the wood. Also, don't punch the hole too close to the edge to avoid splitting the wood.
